I have a friend who calls moisturizer “face lotion” and I don’t honestly think that anything bothers me more in this world.
Anyway, I have horribly dry skin well past the scary, dry, winter months and I have spent years and like, an embarrassing about of money, trying to find the best dry skin “face lotions” on the market. Although I tried some drug store products, I have always felt more inclined to invest in high end skincare, which is what I’ll be sharing with you today.
Each of these moisturizers is near and dear to my heart for different reasons, but I assure you that if you give any of these products the old college try, you won’t be disappointed.
First up, BareMinerals Butter Drench™. This product is said to be a “sumptuously rich, luxuriously moisturizing buttercream [which] saturates dry to very dry skin with rejuvenating moisture to provide an exceptionally soft feel.” It also promises to “renew overall resilience and radiance, while a blend of peptides, ceramides, and amino acids help smooth away roughness, and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
I don’t know about you, but that all sounds pretty good.
This is my tried and true, the thickest of the thick, the richest, creamiest moisturizer I’ve ever used. If you’re having a particularly dry skin day or you just need an overnight moisture pick me up, this guy will be your best friend.
Like I said, this is a thick product, so I recommend it primarily for night time use only. I used it as my morning moisturizer for a while and although it’d keep me plump and juicy, I’d always find it pilling throughout the day.
Next up, is the Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream which is said to hydrate and relieve dry skin while also strengthening the skin’s natural moisture barrier. While these qualities are certainly desirable, I personally enjoy this moisturizer for its unparalleled ability to mix with any kind of skin tint (foundation, cc creams, etc.).
Laneige’s entire water bank line is actually incredibly hydrating, but this is by far my favorite from the range. I use this product in the morning with my tinted sunscreen and it seamlessly blends right into the skin.
Finally, and my most recent favorite, is the Belif True Cream Moisturizing Bomb which is the best of both worlds. This moisturizer is said to “provide up to 26 hours of moisture [which will] absorb completely without stickiness for a healthy, smooth, supple appearance.”
If you use this moisturizer in the morning, it works its magic to fully hydrate the skin while also flawlessly mixing your tint. At night, this is a great moisturizer to finish off your easy night time routine. When traveling, I try to bring as few products as possible, and this bad boy allows me look great in the daytime while also providing the moisture that I desperately need, especially while traveling.
I regularly use all three of these moisturizers depending on my skin’s needs for that day, but honestly, any will do wonders for your skin regardless of which end of the sad and dry skin spectrum you reside.
