Sephora Holiday Bonus Sale Recommendations

Welp, you know your girl went a little crazy on this Sephora Holiday Bonus Sale. Peep the goods below.

Alright, so I started out by snagging the Dior Hydra Life Micellar Milk No Rinse Cleanser. I’d never used a no rinse product before, but was intrigued by the idea of a more gentle way to cleanse my skin in the morning. I tried this cleanser in store and fell in love with everything but the hefty price tag, so I figured the sale was the perfect time to pull the trigger. I’ve been consistently using it for about a week now and my skin definitely feels less dry throughout the day.

Next up is the Volition Beauty Snow Mushroom Water Serum. Let me tell you, this was one of the most expensive impulse buys that has ever taken place. At a hefty $62 a pop, I purchased this product on the spot after testing it in store. I’ve never heard of this brand, let alone this particular product, but OH MY GOSH IT’S SO HYDRATING. I’ve only been using this for a few days now, but holy cow my skin feels like silk after this serum. Smells a little strange (NOT a mushroom fan), but I’m happy to plug my nose for that baby’s butt skin every night.

The last skincare product I purchased was the Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay. I had heard Kathleenlights speak about this product on her channel a few weeks ago, and then found a travel size that I must have gotten in a past subscription box and immediately became obsessed. This slightly gritty face mask smells incredible and leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth I can’t even get over it. Only complaint is that I can’t use this mask all the time because man, could you imagine how gorgeous I’d be?!

Honorable mention goes to my tried and true Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips.  If you need a makeup remover for those pesky (but irreplaceable) waterproof mascaras, this one’s for you.

You know what smell I never once considered for my hair? Banabna. But do you know what Briogeo product recently changed my life? Their Banana Coconut shampoo. This stuff just smells like a yummy tropical dream. Like the perfect morning smoothie or tiptoeing the line between healthy and sweet before bedtime. Couple this can’t-miss scent with the fact that my hair feels tremendously clean post-wash, and YOU NEED THIS SHAMPOO.

I’m trying to be a good person and use up my current hair mask, but I also picked up the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Honey Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask. Honestly, I’m a sucker for this adorable packaging. I don’t even care that it smells like Pooh Bear’s dream conditioner. I don’t have a review for you. Just get it for the packaging. Trust.

Apparently I’m just a Briogeo queen over here, because I’m obsessed with their Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo. I’ve mentioned some other great dry shampoos in a past blog post, but man oh man, does this one trump them all. It doesn’t come in an aerosol can, so you don’t get that icky stiff feeling and it doesn’t leave a whitecast (as long as you’re decently light handed). I love love love this dry shampoo. Perfect for everyday, perfect to travel with. You won’t regret it.

I don’t know man, I just haven’t been as into crazy makeup lately. I grabbed a backup for one of my favorite lip balms, the Fresh Sugar Mint Rush Refreshing Lip Treatment to carelessly throw in my bag. It smells kind of like mint lemon and I love it. If that scent isn’t your jam, then honestly you’d probably still love it because it gives your lips that perfect amount of slip to really feel like it’s doing something and adds a nice balmy look that I enjoy so much.

I also picked up the Pat McGrath (OH MY GOSH WHY IS THIS SO EXPENSIVE) Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil in the shade Contour. Again, my girl Kathleen raves about this sucker and I basically just want to copy everything about her, so I, too, paid $28 for it (who am I kidding she doesn’t have to pay for her own makeup like a peasant). It’s a nice lip liner alright, but is it $28 nice? I mean if Kathleenlights says it is then it must be right?

A very unexpected find came in the form of the Nudestix Cream Lip + Cheek Pencil in the shade Mystic. I was going for a warm tone, and I mean I guess it’s kind of warm? It’s a nice satin finish though which I quite like.

My least favorite purchase of the sale was the Sephora Rouge Lacquer in the shade 22 – Go Girl which is wayyyy too light for me, so I’m considering taking it back on account of I look like a zombie and will never wear it again. It’s a great formula though; great opacity and shine to boot. Will probably snag another shade in the future.

My last makeup buy was the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter which is the most subtly stunning highlighter that has ever graced my face. I think every Youtuber on the planet has spoken about this highlighter and honestly I’m just really behind because $44 seemed like an outrageous amount of money to spend on a highlighter. But here’s the deal, it’s totally worth it. I love this highlight. It’s perfectly subtly, no sparkle at all. Just looks like that healthy glow that I always thought was just a buzzword when people talked about it. I’m going to tell you to get a sample first, because again, $44, but know that I didn’t like love the sample. It was fine, but man, I’m happy with how the full size product performs. 10/10 – bury me in this highlight.

Does anybody actually know why perfume is so outrageously expensive? Am I the only one who thinks it’s unreasonable to drop like $130 on some oil water? Anyway, I bought the Replica By the Fireplace perfume because I like to smell nice and Alyssa Anderson and Samantha Ravndahl both said it smelled good and I thought like hey, maybe if I wear this super expensive perfume I can be cool like them too soooooo here we are. Long story short, they were right. It smells like the perfect winter bonfire with marshmallows and I love it. I wear it every day now and my other $130 perfumes are getting mad jealous but they’ll just have to deal because I smell amazing and I’m not willing to give that up on account of some moody oil waters.

Alright, well that’s it for me. And when I say that’s it, I mean the rest of the stuff I ordered online hasn’t gotten here yet so that’s it for the things I currently have in my possession and have been not-so-patiently waiting to use. Maybe I’ll write another one of these bad boys soon, maybe not. What’s a schedule? Happy Sephora-ing, friends. ✌
